ADD YOUR STRONG VOICE
As part of my research for Strong Voices: Women Singing Together for Social Justice I am eager to read and hear the stories of women who have been singing chorally. The questionnaire below is intended as a starting point, so feel free to add your own questions, answers and comments.
You can cut and paste these questions into an e-mail (see link below), or just respond as the spirit moves you.
1. Please share your name and the name and location of the chorus you sing or have sung with.
2. Please describe your role in the chorus: singer, director, accompanist, composer, non-singing member, other?
3. How long have you worked with this group?
4. What is the mission of your chorus, and how does it relate to social justice?
5. In your own words, please share some of your experiences in a women’s chorus. What draws you to this work, and what keeps you participating?
6. Please add any anecdotes, special moments or memories, or other experiences that have made singing together with other women important to you.
7. Would you be willing to share your experiences in a brief interview, in person or by phone?
Thank you for your participation! You can follow the progress of Strong Voices on my blog (click on “blog”), or feel free to send me an e-mail any time.
